She washed the shrouds and honored those who were gone. Roman historians wrote that the Gaels (Celts) looked for her in the guise of a raven before they went into battle, certain that she would carry them into the blessed Summer Lands if they fought bravely. \u00a0Ritual theatre events, as well as political protests, have been performed with a mask representing <strong>The Morrigan<\/strong> made by artist Lauren Raine. Among them a ritual protest above San Francisco by activist and ritualist <strong>Macha Nightmare<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0Bohemian Grove<\/strong> is a resort that hosts a retreat for corporate and military executives, annually attended by some of the most influential people in America. May you walk all your circles home at last,<br \/>\nand coming home, know where you are.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>You tree-killers, you wasters:<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span>May you breathe the bitter dust, may you thirst,<br \/>\nmay you walk hungry in the wastelands,<br \/>\nthe barren places you have made.<br \/>\nAnd when you cannot walk one step further,<br \/>\nmay you see at your foot a single blade of grass, green, defiantly green.<br \/>\nAnd may you be remade by its generosity.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>And those who are greedy in a time of famine:<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>May you be emptied out, may your hearts break<\/p>\n<p>Not in half, but wide open in a thousand places,<br \/>\nand may the waters of the world pour from each crevice,<br \/>\nwashing you clean.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Those who mistake power for love:<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>May you know true loneliness.<\/p>\n<p>And when you think your loneliness will drive you mad,<br \/>\nwhen you know you cannot bear it one more hour,<br \/>\nmay a line be cast to you,<br \/>\none shining, light woven strand glistening in the dark.<br \/>\nAnd may you hold on for dear life.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Those passive ones, those ones who force others to shape them,<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong> And then complain if it&#8217;s not to your liking:<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>May you find yourself in the hard place with your back against the wall.<br \/>\nAnd may you rage, rage until you find your will.<br \/>\nAnd may you learn to shape yourself.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>And you who delight in exploiting others, imagining that you are better than they are:<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n<p>May you wake up in a strange land as naked as the day you were born and thrice as raw.<br \/>\nMay you look into the eyes <\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The collection travelled throughout the U.S., used for community ritual theatre for over 15 years, and is the subject of a book. In 2009 Raine Resident Artist at the <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>Henry Luce III Center for the Arts in Washington, D.C<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">., and in 2015 her masks were presented at the <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i>Parliament of World Religions <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">with Macha Nightmare and her collaborators.
